Cridling nominated for the 2023 BBC Food & Farming Awards

This week Cridling has been nominated for the BBC Radio 4 Food & Farming Awards in the Drinks category. It is a real honour to be nominated, especially considering Cridling is such a fledgling company. Here we take a look at why Cridling has been nominated.

In our Cridling microbrewery we produce delicious, high quality kombuchas crafted with ethically sourced ingredients. Cridling is bursting with live cultures and is a healthy alternative to carbonated soft drinks and alcohol. Naturally low in sugar and calories, Cridling is a great option to quench your thirst when water isn't quite hitting the spot. Adult consumers also enjoy Cridling as a mixer with gin, vodka or prosecco.

The ethos of Cridling is promoting the health of the population, and maintaining a low impact on the environment, giving back to mother nature and nourishing the world. Cridling focusses on being as kind to the planet as possible. The premium range requires pure honey which is mostly produced in Cridling's own apiary. Additional honey is sourced from local, BBKA registered beekeepers. Brewing is done in small batches and lightweight, aluminium cans that can be recycled forever, are used rather than heavy glass bottles. Recycling and composting are all ways in which Cridling is a conscious producer committed to keeping its carbon footprint to a minimum.

Cridling is located in a historically mining community, with one of the worst health deprivation rates in the country. This is where I was born and raised. This is where my heart is and where I want to make a difference. I have always felt that I could give back to my community and I am able to do this with Cridling. Filled with lactic acid bacteria, known to benefit digestive repair, Cridling is a product that helps people take control of their own health. Although Cridling is still a fledgeling in regards to its age, its new ways of pushing boundaries and encouraging well being through simple changes highlights the positive impact Cridling can have on the population.

Cridling has a committed customer base and local following for which I am truly grateful. As I always say, drinking Cridling is an investment for the future and the future health of all.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog. I look forward to sending out the next one next week.

Enjoy the rest of your week, Claire
